Ahmed Nagy, the former goalkeeper coach for the current Egypt national team, and Smouha, disagree with the decision of Al-Ahly’s board and the ball machine regarding the lack of renewal of Hussam Ashour.
Al-Ahly decided earlier not to renew Hosam Ashour, and the latter has not yet made his decision regarding retirement or relocation to another team.
Ahmed Naji spoke about Al-Ahly’s decision with Ashour, saying: “I will talk about it as a personal opinion and full of emotions. Let us put 30 lines under a sentence full of emotions.”
“Ashour’s experience with Al-Ahly is compromised by Maher Hammam’s experience,” he added in his interview with On Time Sports.
“Maher Hammam was afflicted with a nerve disease and he would have continued treatment for a year, but because he is a great value in Al-Ahly, the club recorded him in his list as the first name,” he said.
He continued his speech by saying: “As a person full of emotions, I will not be able to take the decision that Al-Ahly took with Ashour, specifically this year. I may make the same decision, but next year and not now.”
He said, “If I was Al-Ahly, I wouldn’t make this decision even if Ashour would become” dependent on the team, “I will leave it.”
“Why am I going to do that? Ashour has achieved figures that have not occurred in the history of football in Egypt. No player has played more than 500 games in Egypt, no player has achieved nearly 37 championships,” he explained.
“In all emotional, human, and everything aspects, I wish Al-Ahly would not listen to Failer’s words and implement it. He is not a god and has no problem in overcoming it. It is not Ashour who is” who will hold the world with you, “because you have 29 other players.”
“Ashour is a great value in Al-Ahly. Its actual value is greater than anyone in the club.”

Hossam Ashour has been playing with the first team in Al-Ahly club since 2003 and has continued until now.
The 34-year-old won 35 titles in his career with Al-Ahly, making him the most culminating in the club’s history.
