The football channel revealed this week that IFK Gothenburg veteran Oscar Wendt, 38, has a knee injury, and will miss the Allsvenskan premiere.
Now Blåvitt confirms that Wendt has knee problems, and is forced to undergo an operation. After that, rehab follows for a while, at least until the summer.
– Unfortunately, a surgical intervention is the remaining solution after we have investigated, treated and tested the knee. The goal is to have Oscar back in football shape again after the summer break, says physiotherapist Fredrik Larsson.
Wendt played in all of Blåvitt’s matches in the Swedish Cup group stage, and last year made 28 appearances in the Allsvenskan.
Recently, Blåvitt also announced that Pontus Dahlberg will be away for an extended period of time.
Blåvitt faces Djurgårdens IF at home on Monday in the Allsvenskan premiere.
