TEL AVIV, KOMPAS.TV – The Israeli government is urged to bombard Iran if the nuclear deal between Western countries and Tehran is not reached.
The call was initiated by Tzachi Hanegbi, a member of parliament and a politician from the Israeli opposition party, Likud, on Sunday (31/10/2021).
Hanegbi urged the government of Prime Minister (PM) Naftali Bennett to be more assertive about Iran’s affairs. He also guaranteed Likud’s support if Tel Aviv imposed a firm policy on Tehran’s nuclear program.
“Iran is a real threat. We (Likud) fully support if the government decides to attack (Iran). We are approaching a crossroads regarding a decision on the Iran issue,” Hanegbi was quoted as saying Times of Israel.

“If there is no agreement between Iran and the world powers (on the nuclear program), we must attack Iran by the end of 2021,” he added.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has been criticized by the opposition led by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu called the Bennett government too stagnant in dealing with the Iran issue.
Iran itself is still delaying negotiations over its nuclear program. Western countries question Tehran’s commitment to nuclear negotiations.
At the Summit (G20 Summit) in Rome, Italy, a number of leaders held a forum to discuss Iran’s nuclear negotiations. US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the continuation of Tehran’s nuclear program.
The leaders released a joint statement guaranteeing that “Iran will never be able to develop or acquire nuclear weapons”.
