We meet with the double bass player, the concertmaster of the LNSO double bass group Oskaru Bokanovu and learn about the two upcoming concerts in which the double bass will light up in chamber music.

In the concert “Portraits” on January 20, a meeting with two concertmasters of LNSO instrument groups and two pianists is waiting in the Grand Guild. Flutist Tommaso Pratola and pianist Agnese Egliņa, as well as double bassist Oskars Bokanovs and pianist Rihards Plešanovs have prepared a truly European music evening for the audience – the concert will feature fine French, saturated Italian, strong Czech intonation, as well as a resident of the LNSO.

On January 23, the concert program “Double Bass and Chamber Music” will be performed in the concert hall “Latvija”. Czech Landscapes ”, which will be performed by double bassist Oskars Bokanovs and pianist Rihards Plešanovs. The concert, which both musicians have called a chamber music evening in a warm atmosphere, will feature the little-heard music of Czech composers in a late romantic and early modern mood. The program includes compositions by Bohuslav Martin, Adolf Mishek, Wenceslas Fuk and Francis Hertz.
