After assuring that he seeks to recover the money stolen in acts of corruption, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador warned that if Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) does not return the 200 million dollars that were paid as a premium in the purchase of the plant Fertinal, his government will not grant “any concession”.
At a press conference in the National Palace, the Federal Executive indicated that the return of this money could help those involved in this case and assured that it was the businessman Julio Villarreal, President of Villacero, who offered to return the federal government $ 200 million for the overbought of that “junk” plant, which occurred when Emilio Lozoya He was the owner of Petróleos Mexicano (Pemex).
“If they return the money, that is a legal matter that must be resolved by the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR). It is a kind of damage repair. I think it is something that could help those involved if they return the money, now if they do not return the money, the trial goes ahead as established, as contemplated.
“When I talked about the money being returned, it was said in a newspaper that it was not true, that information had been requested and that they were not willing to return the money, well, there is no problem, there is a money back, there is no agreement, we are not going to grant any concession, but we will recover what they took away ”.

The president pointed out that Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has already begun the procedures to prevent the contract from continuing, which he described as “leonino”, with the Ethylene XXI plant, since he accused that a contract was signed in the government of Felipe Calderón that requires give a subsidy of up to 40% of the gas that the state productive company delivers to this plant.
“It is the same case of Odebrecht of the Ethylene XXI plant, how are we going to continue paying for that contract that they signed during the Calderón government that forces them to give a subsidy of up to 40% for the gas that Pemex delivers to that company?” plant?
