Except for leader Red Bull Salzburg, who confidently leads the table with nine points (two games), the chasing pack moved closer together. The second placed capitals (three games), like the KAC (two games), hold five points and are only ahead due to the better placement in the basic round. This is followed by Graz (three points / three games) and HC Bozen South Tyrol (three points / two games).
In a turbulent initial phase, the Styrians took the lead twice through Travis Oleksuk (3rd) and Daniel Oberkofler (8th), Andrew Kozek had succeeded in the 1-1 draw (4th). Thanks to Adam Comrie (16th) and Rok Ticar (17th), the KAC caused the supposed turning point before the first break of the third, but a goal from Ken Ograjensek (35th) and a goalless final section brought an extension. There the Graz had the better end for themselves through the goal of Dominik Grafenthin (65.).
Graz home series torn
This ended the Grazer’s little misery away and went back to victory after two defeats abroad. The KAC in turn had to suffer a defeat after four wins en suite in front of their own audience. The Klagenfurt team had all won their most recent four home games against the 99ers.
