Ice creams from Snickers, Twix, Bounty and M&M’s recalled…

Mars Belgium is recalling a number of products from its ice cream range due to an excessive content of the crop protection agent ethylene oxide in an ingredient supplied via a supplier. It concerns ice creams from Snickers, Twix, Bounty and M&Ms, Mars Belgium announced on Friday. In recent days, other manufacturers have also recalled ice cream products because of the same problem.

Mars brand ice cream products (ice cream bars and ice cream cups) are not affected by the recall, as are Bounty, M&M’s and Snickers ice cream cups and Snickers sticks.

Those who have purchased one of the affected products are asked to discard the contents and send a photo of the wrapper/packaging clearly showing the barcode, best before date and lot number, along with his/her name and contact details (postal address), to [email protected]. Mars Belgium will then send consumers a voucher for the value of the purchased products.

For more information, consumers can call the toll-free number 0800.93.047, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
