Zlatan Ibrahimovic discusses the impact of money on modern football. It also compares Premier League with Liga Italy.
Ibrahimovic is one of the footballers who has spent many careers in the Italian league. He played in Serie A with the costumes of Juventus, Inter and Milan.
The Swedish striker also played in the English Premier League with the Manchester United costume. There are also jobs in the Netherlands with Ajax, in Spain with Barcelona, in France with Paris Saint-Germain and in the United States for LA Galaxy.
Ibrahimovic is currently still a Milan player despite being 41 years old. He hasn’t played this season as he is still recovering from injury and he hopes to play in early 2023.
Over the course of his time in football, Ibrahimovic has made comparisons regarding football that grew up on money. He also gave an example between the Premier League and the Italian Serie A.
“Money brings possibilities. Money brings alternatives that others may not and the hype in the Premier League is much bigger than Serie A, that’s why the economy is much bigger there,” Ibrahimovic told ESPN.
“But this also makes it interesting because it is a challenge for Italian clubs to beat other clubs … Yet we are professional players and the ball is still round and we do the same.”
AC Milan were sold to Gerry Cardinale and the RedBird group earlier this year with a deal worth around € 1.2 billion, an impressive figure that symbolizes the club’s growth in recent years.
Serie A begins to attract more investments from abroad, including Sheikh Al Thani of Qatar, currently in talks to buy Sampdoria.
