“I am happy to be among the first to carry out the vaccination, it means to set an example and promote the diffusion of the vaccine as much as possible, a glimmer of light to fight this pandemic. These are the words said a few hours after V-Day by Dr. Adolfo Pansoni, director of the emergency room of the Osimo hospital from 1 October 2020, after about two years as acting. He is the first vaccinated doctor in the Marches in the Ancona hub of the Ancona, one of the storage centers of the Doric capital for the administration of Pfizer doses. With him, at least three other nurses from the first aid point of the Osimano hospital will be vaccinated. «I am happy to open the dance – says the head physician – and that the health management has granted me this possibility. When it was proposed to me (voluntary membership, ed), I immediately joined together with some of my collaborators. No hesitation. I think the vaccine represents a very important weapon to contain the pandemic and I hope it will help us to get out of the health emergency as soon as possible. An emergency – he continues – that has been occupying us for months, in terms of commitment, work and economic resources. So, it’s welcome that the vaccine is ready. I will also do it out of respect for the people who contributed to producing it and for the researchers who made it possible ». Despite the efforts to conceive, produce and distribute the doses (in the Marche in the first tranche there are 200 available), there are citizens who are hiding in front of the vaccination campaign. «Full respect for people who have doubts – says Pansoni – and for those who do not want to get vaccinated because they follow their principles. Full respect also for the health personnel who decide not to get the vaccine. Despite this, with the opportunity given to me, I take this opportunity to invite all people to get vaccinated. Hoping that over the months, and with an increasing number of doses, even those who have matured doubts will eventually decide to get vaccinated. It is history that teaches us the importance of vaccines to fight diseases ».
