Like many stars, the Ivorian international Serey Die was not born with a golden spoon. The footballer whose romantic relationship with singer Josey had the effect of a spangled earthquake a few days ago, has just testified through an interview about his very difficult past.

Life has many surprises in store for us, it is said, and it is not Serey Die who will say the opposite. The former captain of the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire, who also had a great professional career, did not have a rosy childhood. Indeed, Serey Die who lost his father very early had to fight against winds and tides to find a place in the sun.

“I was selling stuff at red lights to survive. Bread, cigarettes… my father was no longer living (he died in 2004), my mother only had a small pension and so I couldn’t ask her for anything. I had to fend for myself. I even lived in a room with an unfinished roof…«

And to add: “When it rained, I had to protect my things. When I was training, I was thinking about my mattress and the two or three clothes I had that were going to be wet when I got back…”.

During this rather difficult period, Serey Die says he lost his girlfriend whom she loved so much because he could not give her money regularly. “My girlfriend left me because she clearly told me that I was embarrassing her. But I wanted so much! said Serey Die

Proud of the man he has become today, the father of singer Josey’s children says he is very happy to have achieved all that is important in life.

“Today, my mother does not regret giving birth to me. I built his house for him, in his village. I made my mom happy, I can die today. I am a happy man. » confided the former defensive midfielder of the Elephants.
