Ricardo Gallardo won the Governor of San Luis Potosí cleanly and the attacks against him have to do with political persecution, says the federal deputy Hector Serrano.
In a chat with THE UNIVERSAL, the legislator of the Labor Party (PT) explains that he supported the project of the president-elect by the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) because he saw in Potosino “an exceptional spirit to transform a state and improve the living conditions of its people.”
He also anticipates that he has no interest in being part of Gallardo’s cabinet “and of any other government,” although he does intend to continue supporting the PT parliamentary group if his leadership so decides.
Serrano Cortés also talks about the Metr line 12or, and ensures that, as secretary of government in the administration of Marcelo Ebrard, “I never got involved in issues related to the line.”
What is the balance you have of these elections, how did the PT do?
“The party did very well at the national level, there has been a great strategy carried out by our leader Alberto Anaya, 40 deputies will be in the federal congress and it seems to me that the overall balance for the PT is favorable.”
In San Luis Potosí he was very active supporting Ricardo Gallardo. Are you satisfied with the results?
“It is not strange to anyone that I have a commitment and friendship with Ricardo Gallardo, whom I recognized as my parliamentary coordinator in this legislature that is about to conclude, obviously I am very happy with the results because Ricardo is consolidated with a resounding electoral victory in San Luis Potosí, today Ricardo Gallardo is elected governor ”.
Why did you decide to support him, what do you see in Ricardo?
“I decided to be by his side because he is a person with extraordinary feelings, a kind, generous, and honest human being, and when I saw Ricardo’s spirit and asked me to accompany him in that project, I did so with pleasure, I observed a spirit in him. exceptional for transforming a state and improving the living conditions of its people, and I was not mistaken, his way of being allowed him to achieve a great empathy with the Potosinos, especially with the popular class, with the most dispossessed class, and he has a very high challenge given the expectation that Ricardo awoke in Los Potosinos ”.
What do you think about the accusations against the governor-elect?
“Ricardo has been a politically persecuted man, a whole criminal issue was built on him, a lie was built on him, and what I have been able to verify is that Ricardo is a man devoted to his family, he is a man of work who was forged in the culture of effort, the accusations are nothing more than false accusations ”.
What does he say to those who accuse, does he refer to the opposition parties?
“I hope that the political class that today is going to leave the government, an old political class that ruled for more than 90 years, understands that the decision that Ricardo Gallardo governs is the will of the Potosino people who voted on July 6 and they owe it to respect, and that they must stop any type of attack that seeks discord in the state. I predict that San Luis Potosí is going to experience a momentous change ”.
Has Ricardo already invited you to his Cabinet?
“I decided to support him unconditionally on my part, friends are not conditioned, friends are helped, Ricardo has addressed this issue, but I have been clear with him in the sense that I do not intend to join any government, no only to the government of Ricardo Gallardo, I do not want to have a public activity in a government, in which it is, to be clearer I have declined before any proposal by my friend Gallardo, I have no intention or interest in occupying a public position in the government of Ricardo Gallardo ”.
What comes for Héctor Serrano after the legislature that is about to conclude?
“Today I am a businessman dedicated to the media, I like what I do and I intend to continue in this business stage that I started a few years ago. I decided to reside in San Luis Potosí because I am working on my newspaper project, always contributing and supporting the ideology and belief that I have, I will continue to support the PT, I will continue to militate in the PT, I will continue to support the parliamentary group if they so decide. , and in the state I will continue to promote the establishment of the PT in San Luis Potosí ”.

“It is an unfortunate accident, I can speak little about it, I never got involved in issues related to line 12 or anything that was outside my competence, I was secretary of government, I evidently had an activity related to governance, to the political relationship, and technical issues related to these mechanisms, were never within my reach ”.
Is there responsibility of Ebrard or the current capital authorities?
“I worked with Ebrard, and he will have my gratitude forever for the trust he placed in me, a trust that I never disappointed and will never disappoint, I generally see a magnificent job by the capital authorities, I believe that the work that is done You have to go find the bottom of the responsibility, but I prefer to stay on the sidelines because it is very easy to make a criticism without arguments, I have no elements to express an opinion to one side or the other, I think it is the authorities who should determine it , I believe that the city where I am from should do well, I hope that the government does things that favor the population and I wish the government of Claudia Sheinbaum to do well ”.
