According to the automobile industry on the 12th, Hyundai Mobis is considering a plan to separate its domestic business sites into five divisions. In particular, the module and parts businesses are planned to be established as subsidiaries.

The launch date of the Hyundai Mobis subsidiary is set for November. In this regard, briefing sessions for employees will also be held sequentially from next week.

Currently, Hyundai Mobis’ business is largely divided into after-sales service (AS) and parts division.

If this business reorganization becomes a reality, only the after-sales division will remain at Hyundai Mobis.

The parts business is divided into a module production subsidiary and a subsidiary that manufactures electric vehicles, chassis, and airbags, respectively.

As representatives of the newly established subsidiary, it is known that Jeong-hwan Jeong, Executive Vice President of Chassis Safety BU, and Won-hyeok Kim, Executive Vice President of Service Parts BU, are likely to be representatives of the new subsidiary.

Hyundai Mobis plans to hold employee briefing sessions related to this business reorganization in sequence.

In addition, it is reported that the former doctors of the subsidiaries are also being asked for employees of the electrification, lamp, airbag, chassis parts, and module organizations.

The automobile industry predicted that Hyundai Mobis will be able to strengthen its expertise in both AS and parts through this business reorganization.

In particular, the after-sales business that remains at Hyundai Mobis accounts for a small percentage of sales, but the proportion of operating profit is close to 80%, so it is expected to grow the most when the business is reorganized.

An automobile industry official said, “I understand that Hyundai Mobis has finalized a plan to hand over the module and parts division to a new subsidiary and held a briefing session for executives. “He said.
