Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) car competition for 2022 is certain to be fiercer than in previous years. This is because the South Korean manufacturer, Hyundai, has confirmed that it will release a new MPV this year.
COO of Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific, Lee Kang Hyun, gave a signal that Hyundai is getting serious about working on the Indonesian automotive market, including the low MPV segment. As a result, competitors such as the Toyota Avanza and Mitsubishi Xpander must be more careful.
“MPV market is also good, Hyundai will produce & launch second semester this year, “he told CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (6/1/22).
However, he could not confirm that the MPV was a Stargazer. The Hyundai Stargazer made a scene because of its appearance on social media.
In South Korea, the Stargazer was caught on camera being tested on the streets. There are indications that Hyundai will also release the Stargazer. However, when asked about the name that will launch, Lee was reluctant to provide details, including when asked the name of the Hyundai Stargazer.
This is not the first time Lee has revealed that the Hyundai MPV will enter Indonesia, but he cannot confirm that the MPV is the Hyundai Stargazer.
