Hysterical Housewife Asks For Help When Poached and Dragged by Crocodiles

MIDDLE WEATHER, KOMPAS.com – Nila (45), one housewife scream out hysterical ask for help to the people around when he was pounced on crocodile in the Barakkang River, in Barakang Village, Budong-budong District, Regency Mamuju Tengah, West Sulawesi, Tuesday (4/8/2020).

The victim was torn to pieces and dragged crocodiles while bathing and washing clothes by the river.

To this day, the combined SAR team is still searching for Nila.

Basarnas Coordinator, Mamuju Tengah Nasarudin, quoted Andi, one of the victims’ families who was also an eyewitness, said the victim was bathing and washing clothes in the river on Tuesday at around 6:30 a.m.

When the victim was busy clearing a pile of laundry before bathing, he was suddenly pounced on a herd of crocodiles and dragged into the middle of the river until it disappeared in the middle of the swift current of the Barakkang River.

“The search until evening had not yet produced results. We plan to continue tomorrow by expanding the search area, “explained Nasarudin.

Andi mentioned, he had seen from afar that Nila was screaming hysterically, while asking for help from local residents.

The victim’s voice could be heard relatives and other residents, including himself who is also still a close relative of the victim.

However, when he approached the location, the victim who was dragged by a crocodile into the middle of the river immediately disappeared.

“Many residents immediately intervened when they heard the hysterical sound of the victim from the direction of the river, but when the residents approached the location, the victim was lost being dragged by a crocodile into the middle of the river,” said Arman, another eyewitness.
