The Lexus NX compact crossover has been available for six years, and in 2017 it underwent planned restyling. A change of generations is not far off, but so far the company is expanding the range of modifications that can help spur sales. In most markets (including Russia), the Lexus NX is available with conventional gasoline engines, but in some countries like the UK there is only an all-wheel drive hybrid version of the NX 300h. Now the choice will be expanded: the hybrid will become cheaper and more economical with the debut of the front-wheel drive modification.

A 2.5 gasoline engine (155 hp), an electromechanical variator and a front electric motor (143 hp) are the same as all-wheel drive hybrids, but there is no rear 68-horsepower electric motor. Interestingly, this did not affect the passport maximum power of the power plant: the same 197 hp. The dynamic performance has not changed: the hybrid Lexus NX with front-wheel drive is gaining “a hundred” in the same 9.2 s as all-wheel drive, with a top speed of 180 km / h. At the same time, fuel consumption was reduced from 7.6 to 7.1 l / 100 km. And almost the only external difference between the front-wheel drive hybrid and the car with four driving wheels is 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch ones.

Starting price for Lexus NX in the UK reduced from 37110 to 35860 pounds. Such a modification is also available on the German market, but in other countries of Europe, as well as in the USA and Russia, the hybrid NX 300h so far can be ordered exclusively with all-wheel drive. Now the price of a hybrid Lexus NX, we start with 3 million 578 thousand rubles, but it makes little sense to display the front-wheel drive option, because the 300h version is chosen by less than 1% of buyers.
