Hundreds of Americans take to the streets for lockdown NOW

Hundreds of Americans took to the streets on Saturday to protest the country’s lockdown. Demonstrations were organized on Saturday in Texas, Maryland and Michigan, among others.

Hundreds of people gathered in Austin, the capital of Texas, on Saturday afternoon to protest against the strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus. According to The Guardian protesters said “fire Fauci!” called, referring to Anthony Fauci, an authoritative virologist who assists the White House in the fight against the corona virus.

Footage shows that the demonstrators are walking close together and that only a few activists are wearing mouth protection.

The demonstration in Austin was organized by conspiracy thinker Alex Jones, who ran the website Infowars manages.

Protests also took place in Maryland and Michigan on Saturday. However, the protesters in Maryland stayed in their cars and honked their horn as they drove through the capital Annapolis.

Some US states are starting to relax measures

In a daily press conference, US President Donald Trump said on Saturday behind the announced relaxation of corona measures in some states. Texas and Vermont will allow certain companies to reopen their doors from Monday, Montana is expected to follow Friday with the easing of measures.

When the companies are reopened, measures regarding the coronavirus, such as keeping a distance, must still be observed.

According to Trump, the virus has peaked in the United States. He reportedly wants to restart economic activities in the country in two weeks.

Not all states agree with the relaxation of the measures. Some governors have indicated that they want to wait until the measures are gradually lifted until sufficient corona tests are available.
