I have two messages for Huawei fans. The first is that the prices of Huawei phones are going up significantly – although not yet in Poland. The second is that the Chinese manufacturer can be saved because the network has received information about establishing cooperation with AMD.
There is information from China about crazy increases in the price of Huawei phones. Everything is related to the extension of the restrictions to the prohibition of supplying processors. At the same time, there was a light in the tunnel – apparently AMD got a license to supply chips for Huawei smartphones!
So let’s start with the good news. AMD is said to be able to provide processors for Huawei phones, and the terms of the agreement are not to be affected by restrictions from the US. This may be a new quality in terms of mobile systems – at least looking at the situation on the laptop processor market. So far, the manufacturer has a problem with Kirinem 9000 for Huawei Mate 40 Pro – they are said to have only 9 million copies.

The second issue is an interesting phenomenon in China. Compared to January 2020, prices have increased by an average of 40 percent. There are bizarre offers in which the devilishly expensive Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Edition has increased by over $ 400. On average, we are talking about increases of around $ 60 for each model. I don’t think anyone expected that.
The reason is prosaic. Users are afraid that in the near future the warehouse stocks of Huawei models will simply run out, because the manufacturer will not be able to supply the market with the appropriate number of processors. This also includes memory and displays (Samsung, WD, Micron, Kioxia, or Sharp are also no longer compatible with Huawei).

We will, of course, observe the situation and keep you informed about it. You may find that as the stocks of GMS models run out, such as Huawei P30 Pro, they will go up sharply. In short – if you intend to buy one of the Huawei smartphones, it may not be worth delaying. There is a great opportunity for this – Huawei Mate 30 Pro has never been so cheap.
