Huawei has expanded its range with another mid-range device called the Nova Y91. The smartphone will surely appeal to those who like the design of the iPhone, as it has a very similar notch, but perhaps its most attractive feature is the huge capacity battery, thanks to which you will rarely have to go to the sockets.
The Huawei Nova Y91 has such a large display that it could even compete in the field of smaller tablets. The device’s 6.95-inch display has 2376 x 1080 pixels, the panel has a 90 Hz refresh rate and 270 Hz touch sampling. Covering the screen is a Snapdragon 680 chipset, namely 8 GB of RAM, along with 128 or 256 GB of storage.
The Huawei Nova Y91 has a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back, the f/1.8 aperture image recording unit is supported by a 2-megapixel depth sensor, although you shouldn’t expect too much from such a module. Self-portraits can be taken with the 8 megapixel unit on the front, which is placed in a sensor island that is strongly reminiscent of Apple iPhone devices. Some people like it, others less so. The mobile also offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity options, but for well-known reasons, 5G networks are not required, and there is no headphone output.
Inside the Huawei Nova Y91 is a huge battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh, the meter battery can be powered with a 22.5 watt charge, the lost energy is replaced via the USB-C connector. By the way: the necessary adapter will be in the box of the device, contrary to the current fashionable practice. The phone’s fingerprint reader is placed in the power button, the wide notch does not allow facial recognition – at least not as provided by Apple – so it is completely incomprehensible why such a solution was used during production.
The device has dimensions of 171.6 x 79.9 x 8.9 mm and a weight of 214 grams, which means that despite its dimensions it cannot be considered heavy at all. The Nova Y91 will be sold in silver and black shades, but it is not yet known what amount they will ask for it. Nova phones tend to appear beyond China’s borders, but whether we will meet this model is a great question.
