Huawei FreeBuds 5i Wireless Headset Debuts with Better Noise Canceling and Longer Life

The continuation of last year’s FreeBuds 4i, the FreeBuds 5i wireless headset, has also been officially announced. The new feature offers much better active noise cancellation than its predecessor, has been made easier to design, and will continue to drag on with a single charge.

The now-unveiled Huawei FreeBuds 5i offers three-stage noise reduction with a maximum setting of 42 decibels to reduce ambient noise, almost double what the previous generation knew, up to 22 decibels for the 4i. The device also tries to make phone calls clearer with a two-microphone system controlled by artificial intelligence.

Inside the earphones are 10mm diameter dynamic drives, and the LDAC codec is supported to make sure you don’t even have to complain about the sound, and Huawei’s new product boasts Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification.

Wireless connectivity is provided by Bluetooth 5.2 technology, complemented by multipoint connectivity, which means that the earphones can be connected to multiple machines at once, and the target application, developed for the earphones, switches between different devices with lightning speed. To minimize latency, a game mode has also been integrated, giving a response time of just 94 ms.

Not only technologically, but also in terms of design, the earphones have been revamped, with a case that is 18 percent lighter, this time at just 33.9 grams, while the earphones themselves weigh just 4.6 grams. Despite the lighter weight, the manufacturer has been able to improve the operating time a bit, which can take up to 28 hours by including the extra battery inside the case, but if you turn on active noise cancellation, you can listen to music for up to 18.5 hours or whatever. whatever we want.

The earbuds are capable of 7.5 hours of operation on their own, and can operate for 6 hours with noise cancellation. If anyone is interested, there are 55 batteries in the earbuds and 410 mAh in the cradle. Once the battery has surrendered, it only takes a single hour to fully charge, but 15 minutes on the cord can provide up to 4 hours of operation.

The Huawei FreeBuds 5i is already available for pre-order, unfortunately for the time being only in China, where they will ask for $ 90, or about HUF 33,000, for the well-done accessory on paper, at least in any case. The open sale of the headset will start on June 18th and we very much hope that someday the device will reach us at a similarly friendly price.
