Western countries are very experienced in playing games on interethnic relations, said Dmitry Zhuravlev, scientific director of the Institute of Regional Problems, associate professor at the Financial University under the Russian government.
“It’s clear, – said an expert on Sputnik radio, that interethnic relations are a great way to drown the domestic political ship, because there is always something to remember each other. Ethnic conflicts are most often a converted form of economic conflicts, but they are better remembered. So it’s a very convenient way to rock the boat.”
The British, for example, reminded Zhuravlev, have been using it since the 19th century, their American friends learned later, but also actively use it.
“In order to destroy the Soviet Union, they suddenly remembered that each union republic is a great power, and now they are already talking about 50 states on the territory of the “former Russia”. This is an attempt to break the country with the help of interethnic relations,” Dmitry Zhuravlev said.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin Earlier, at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, he stated the need to do everything to prevent destabilization of the situation in the country. According to the head of state, ill-wishers are trying to stir up the situation inside Russia.
“And you and I must do everything in order not to allow them to do this under any circumstances,” Putin said.
The President explained that interethnic relations, which are extremely important for a country inhabited by 190 ethnic groups, will also be discussed.
