Mentioning a user in your snap is a cool way to include other people who were with you at the time. It can be compared to ‘Tagging’ on other social media platforms. Since the mentions are related to your snap or story, they disappear once with the snap. How to mention someone on Snapchat
Snapchat allows you to mention users in your Snaps or even in your Stories. You can only mention users from your friends list on the app. Snapchat doesn’t allow you to mention strangers. Follow this simple guide below to mention a user on Snapchat
Launch the Snapchat app on your device. Now go ahead and take a photo with the Snapchat camera. Alternatively, you can use a snapshot of your memories by swiping up.
Once you have your snap, tap the screen to bring up the text box. Now press the @ button on the panel above your keyboard. This will bring up a list of your most frequently photographed friends. Alternatively, you can type the ‘@’ yourself using your keyboard.
Select the users you want to mention in your snap. There doesn’t seem to be a limit to the number of users you can mention per snap. Once your snap is ready, tap the “Send to” button in the lower right corner. You can now choose to send it in a snap or add it to your story.
How to Customize a Mention on Snapchat

You can change the size and position of a mention just like you would a sticker on Snapchat. Use the pinch-to-zoom method to change the size of each text box with a mention. You can move the mention by simply tapping on it and dragging it to a new location on the snap.
What happens when you mention someone on Snapchat?
When you mention someone in a Snapchat story, they are notified immediately. Even if you don’t send them the story, they will receive it as a message when you tag them on it. However, if you tag a user in the blink of an eye and send it to a third friend, the user will not be notified! It sounds a little weird, but that’s how it is.
