How to follow L1 on TV in 2020-2021?

As the resumption of the French championship is fast approaching, MadeinFOOT takes stock of the new distribution of meetings between broadcasters, which has led to a revolution in the programming of L1 weekends.

No more round trips between beIN Sports and Canal+ to follow Ligue 1, it will now be necessary to travel most of the time to Telefoot, the new channel created by Mediapro, as well as on Canal+. Indeed, the new Ligue 1 broadcaster, which has the rights for eight of the ten matches of each day from 2020 to 2024, will become the reference channel for lovers of the French championship.

As in recent seasons, the first match of a day of L1 will start, always, on Friday evening at 9 p.m. However, it is no longer Canal+ who has the rights for this match since it will be broadcast on Telefoot, the Mediapro channel. On Saturday, there will only be two Ligue 1 games to watch, compared to five in recent seasons. At 5:00 p.m., the second of the premium matches will take place on Mediapro. Finally, at 9:00 p.m., there will be one of only two Canal+.

With one game on Friday and two on Saturday, Sunday will be busy with the other seven games! We will start the day very early with the first poster at 1 p.m. on Teleoot, followed by the multiplex of four matches at 3:00 p.m. still at the same broadcaster. At 5:00 p.m., Canal+ will broadcast its second and last game of the day in L1. Finally, at 9:00 p.m., in prime-time, the closing of Ligue 1 will be on Telefoot ! As a reminder, the duo Grégoire Margotton-Bixente Lizarazu will officiate 10 times on the antennas of Telefoot for the biggest posters of the championship. Including the opening match of the 1st day scheduled this Friday between Bordeaux and Nantes.
