how to eat healthier?

A strange world day is celebrated on July 21: that of junk food. A study, published in The Lancet, estimated at 11 million the number of deaths linked to a bad diet for the year 2017, a more important cause of death than tobacco (7 million deaths) and hypertension (9.4 million deaths).

To improve his diet, and therefore his health, the National Health Nutrition Program (PNNS) offers twelve “benchmarks”. The most known : eat at least five fruits and vegetables a day. But other daily reflexes must also be adopted, according to the PNNS. Among them, eat at least one “nut” per day, with no added salt. In this category, include almonds, walnuts or pistachios. It is also advisable to consume two servings of dairy products. Bread, pasta, rice, and all grain products can be eaten “every day according to the appetite.”

Certain products are, on the contrary, to be avoided. This is the case with Red meat, of which you should ideally not eat more than 500g per week, and also sweet products and salt, “to be limited” in general. The PNNS offers alternatives: opt for poultry rather than red meat, prefer white ham to cold meats … Products with a lot of added fat, like most hamburgers, pizzas or industrial cakes, are to be avoided.
