JawaPos.com – The iPhone 15 Series was officially released on Wednesday (13/9) and was launched directly by Apple CEO, Steve Job. Officially, the price offered for the iPhone 15 starts from USD 799 or IDR 12.3 million.

Regarding this, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) officially released how to calculate import duties and import taxes that must be paid when buying an iPhone 15 from Singapore.

“If you plan to buy an iPhone 15 128 GB worth USD 799 directly from Singapore and bring it as passenger luggage, then the import duties and import taxes will be subject to 10 percent Import Duty, 11 percent VAT, and 10-20 percent PPh,” reads the information. quoted from the Twitter account now named X, Friday (15/9).

In more detail, here is how to calculate the customs duties and import taxes that someone must pay if they buy an iPhone 15 from Singapore:

For goods worth USD 799 and a fee exemption of USD 500, the value subject to levy is USD 299. The applicable tax rate is IDR 15,000.

Customs Value (NP): USD 299 × IDR 15,000 = IDR 4,485,000
Import Duty (BM): 10 percent x NP = 10 percent × IDR 4,485,000 = IDR 449,000 (rounded up to thousands)

Import Value (NI): NP + BM = IDR 4,934,000
VAT: 11 percent x NI = 11 percent x IDR 4,934,000 = IDR 543,000 (rounded up to thousands)

PPh (NPWP owner): 10 percent x NI = 10 percent × IDR 4,934,000 = IDR 494,000 (rounded to thousands and above)

PPh (don’t have NPWP): 20 percent × NI = 20 percent x IDR 4,934,000 = IDR 987,000 (rounded to thousands and above)

That way, the total bill that needs to be paid consists of BM + VAT + PPh, namely IDR 449,000 + IDR 543,000 + IDR 494,000. So the final total of customs taxes that must be paid:

• IDR 1,486,000 (for NPWP holders)
• IDR 1,979,000 (don’t have NPWP)

Apart from being obliged to pay tax, Customs and Excise also reminds buyers not to forget to register their IMEI upon arrival in their country. For information, Customs and Excise stipulates that whether it is passenger luggage or goods sent from abroad, the importation of cell phones is only permitted a maximum of 2 units.

“Two units per passenger if carried as passenger luggage, two units per shipment if sent as consignment,” he said.
