How the head of the DNA, Crin Bologa, responds to a question regarding the file regarding the revolutionary certificate of the PSD leader, Marcel Ciolacu

The head of DNA, Crin Bologa, stated, in an interview for Europa FM, that Marcel Ciolacu does not have the status of suspect or defendant in any case, but he did not clarify at what stage the notification regarding the revolutionary certificate obtained by the PSD leader is at . “Classifications were also given. I don’t know exactly. If you are going to make a request in writing, or tomorrow, or by phone, I can check. As far as I know, not all files have been closed, but solutions of all categories have been given, but I cannot say that there is a Ciolacu file at the DNA, that there is no such thing”, stated Bologa.

Below is the relevant excerpt from the interview, posted on the DNA website:

Producer: There is a file that is little talked about, it concerns quite old facts, that file in rem regarding revolutionary certificates, including the revolutionary certificate obtained by Mr. Marcel Ciolacu. What stage is that file at?
Crin Bologa: So, try to talk about one file, then the other, although I told you that I can’t relate, but, of course, it’s your duty to ask and I’ll see how…

Filmmaker: Is it working? It’s ranked, it’s…
Crin Bologa: It is interesting to be on this side, to be asked and interrogated. As far as I know, there we have several notifications from individuals as well, in the big file, I think we also have a refusal from the General Prosecutor’s Office. I can tell you that at the level of the National Anticorruption Directorate, there is no initiation of a criminal investigation in personam against the person of Mr. Ciolacu. So he does not have the status of suspect or defendant in a case. So we cannot refer to Mr. Ciolacu’s name, to a specific file.

Filmmaker: No, no. I was saying there was a referral.
Crin Bologa: I know that there have been solutions both for classification in this file, but also for sending to court, for example, Mr. Deputy Rădulescu. He was sent to court. Others, as far as I know, in some cases, the facts remained at the stage of an attempt, an attempt at an abuse of office of the General Secretariat that deals with these issues, by the revolutionaries.

Filmmaker: But as far as Mr. Ciolacu is concerned, there is no ranking either. I mean…
Crin Bologa: As far as I know, we are not talking about Mr. Ciolacu. There are many there, reports have been made by individuals.

Filmmaker: You said that some rankings were also done. That’s why I asked you.
Crin Bologa: Rankings were also given. I don’t know exactly. If you are going to make a request in writing, or tomorrow, or by phone, I can check. As far as I know, not all files have been closed, but solutions of all categories have been given, but I cannot say that there is a Ciolacu file at DNA, that there is no such thing.

Context

G4Media.ro wrote in August last year that DNA communicated in October 2020 to the revolutionary Marian Moroșanu, known as Ceaușescu, the ranking solution against several revolutionaries complained about by him. Ceaușescu had complained that the revolutionaries would have illegally acquired the status of “fighter with a decisive role” in the Revolution and would have obtained certain financial privileges arising from that status.

However, the prosecutor Mihai Prună, the deputy head of the 2nd Section of the DNA, did not dismiss the case regarding Marcel Ciolacu and 11 other people, but still has it pending, in rem, that is, only regarding the deed, not also to the person.
