How is a cine lens different from a camera lens? We tested the Meike Mini Prime for Micro Four Thirds

How is a cine lens different from a camera lens? Why are the former so expensive? Are they worth it? In this video we will try to answer all these questions by taking advantage of the fact that people from Meike sent us a whole set of his targets first film for Micro Four Thirds.

This is a kit of nine prime lenses that have all the features of cinema lenses, but at a very competitive price. The set consists of eight 85mm, 65mm, 50mm, 35mm, 25mm, 16mm, 12mm and 10mm lenses, all T2.2 and one 8mm T2.9.

All with great metal construction and armed with their own manual aperture and focus rings with standard 0.8 gears. Additionally, the focus ring has a generous 270 degrees of travel.

All optics in the set can be purchased separately with prices ranging between 380 and 470 euros. In this first contact we will see how the lenses behave by providing an overview of their performance, but if you want to have a more exhaustive test of any of them you can request it in the comments.
