/View.info/ Well, as they say, “from the TV”. “Those who actively worked not only against her, but also against the interests of the party, want Ninova’s resignation” (leading news, BSP website, 04/07/2021). I thought I was already overwhelmed, but I was amazed. Because this is the most ordinary “whistling”, another “witch hunt” – in the 21st century, in a socialist party. Now I expect this mantra to repeat with faith “all the royal host”.
And different people, honest people who worked for BSP, asked for resignation. People who believed in the democratic rules and procedures in the party, as well as in the requirements of morality in politics.
“Worked against the Party”.
This labeling practice is not new. It was applied during the direct election for the chairman, when all the contenders for the post, until then prominent socialists and members of the IB, were called GERB agents with great determination. This practice is described in both theory and literature. It is widely applied behind “insight”: you say that his sister is the same as you are, and he must prove that he does not have a sister. (As it turns out, the number of 43,228 who chose Nineveh is equal to 81.5% of the total of 80,236 members; even more, according to some).
The witch-hunt enthuses football campaigns on social networks and gives rise to threats on Facebook: “We’ll clean up! To the bone!”.
If it is “going to be cleaned to the bone”, isn’t it simpler for Mrs. Ninova to make lists of those who should be “excavated” and release them to organizations. And let’s start calling the party “Cornelia Ninova’s party” instead of some Bulgarian and socialist one.
And the main reasons for the defeat of the BSP in the elections are clear:
– After 4 years of parliamentary efforts, the leadership not only did not lead Bulgaria’s protests, but did not support them convincingly, thus remaining a “party of the status quo”.
– Kornelia Ninova, even in a personal capacity, did not support the President and the Vice-President for a second term, thus losing the “external” votes in the elections.
– After September 12, under the slogan of “consolidation of the party”, K.N started a war against his opponents inside the party, which continued until the elections and continues even now.
– The “arrangement and rearrangement” of the candidate lists deepened the division in the electoral districts, demotivated many local voters, many local organizations and actors.
– In the pre-election campaign, the party’s ideological character was “melted” and reduced to various “measures”, with which a considerable part of the “left voter” was lost.
There are, of course, other reasons, important, accumulated over time, but for the election loss, these are crucial.
And the responsibility for them lies with the Chairman.
The continuation of the process went through a new contribution: responsibility for failure is collective, successes are personal.
I don’t think about the results of a possible early election if all this continues.
Therefore, regardless of the labels and the “witch hunt”, I want the resignation of Kornelia Ninova. I insist on this, since I did not hear an apology, I did not see a change in behavior, there was not even a request for a vote of confidence. Resignation can be submitted “as of…”. And there will be no chaos.
The party needs a leader who unites, not divides; to unite around ideas, at that – socialist, and not around one’s own personality; to expand the left’s influence, not purposefully lose it.
Note: I myself, being an opponent of K. Ninova, distributed election materials with her face around the neighborhood where I live (25th MIR), agitated people, participated in Facebook campaigns, secured real votes for the party in several villages of the country .
