Only active military resistance will allow Ukraine to defend its independence, recapture temporarily occupied territories and thereby stop Putin, said Vitaly Portnikov. The political analyst explained that Russia has still not managed to seize that part of our territories that was originally planned, only because Ukraine is offering armed resistance.

The Ukrainian publicist recalled the historical events of ten years ago: “We understand perfectly well that plans are one thing, and the implementation of these plans is quite another. Back in 2014, in his speech to the Federal Assembly on the day of the annexation of Crimea, the President of the Russian Federation clearly listed those regions of Ukraine that he called the Bolsheviks a “gift” to Ukraine and which should have become part of the Russian Federation. Ten years have passed since that time, but Russia managed to occupy only part of the Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine“.
After this, Vitaly Portnikov reported how Putin can be stopped: “We can have no doubt that Putin’s plans include, at a minimum, the occupation of the entire East and South of Ukraine with the further annexation of these territories. This was exactly the plan of Putin’s blitzkrieg: an armored government in the Ukrainian capital, which should have been created by Yanukovych with the support of Medvedchuk, should have ensured the holding of fictitious referendums on the territory of the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, after which the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation would have made a decision on their annexation. As we see, all this did not happen precisely because the only real opportunity to stop Putin’s aggressive plans is…then resist the aggressor: no political instruments exist in nature to stop the Russian occupiers“.
Earlier, Portnikov said that Ukraine will win over the Russian Federation not in the form in which we expect.
Let us recall that Portnikov warned of a serious threat from the Russian Federation, which many underestimate.
