Houthi drones attack Saudi Arabian oil refinery in Riyadh

RIYADH – A number drone target oil refinery in the capital city Saudi Arabia , Riyadh, on Friday morning. The attack sparked a controllable fire, an official of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy said, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) news agency reported.

The source also said no injuries had been reported, adding that the attack had neither affected the oil supply nor its derivatives.

“The Kingdom affirms that the repeated acts of terrorism and sabotage against vital installations and civilians do not target the Kingdom alone, but more broadly the security and stability of energy supplies to the world, as well as the global economy,” said the source, according to SPA, as quoted. Yemeni rebel group, Houthi , claiming the attack. The group said the attack was carried out using six drones Al Araby.

Yemen’s Houthi militias regularly launch drones and missiles at Saudi Arabia. Riyadh intercepted most of the attacks.

On March 7, the Arab Coalition said a barrage of drones and missiles had been intercepted en route to a number of targets including an oil storage site at Ras Tanura, the site of the world’s largest offshore refinery and oil loading facility. A residential complex in Dhahran used by Saudi Arabian oil company Aramco was also targeted.
