House receives advice from corona committee too late • UMC is considering deploying infected staff

A committee set up by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport itself, which has to advise on the corona approach, is surprised at the way in which the Ministry handles its advice. These are often sent to the House of Representatives after important debates and decisions have been taken. This writes the Volkskrant Today.

Members and former members of the Guidance Committee Digital Support Combating Covid-19 believe that the House is not fully informed as a result. As the name suggests, the committee must provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the ministry about digital support in the fight against the corona virus. But two opinions about the Corona Reporter only reached the House after the legislation had long since been passed.

“We are aware of debates that will take place and are doing our utmost to advise the minister in advance,” said Erik Buskens, co-chair of the advisory committee. “But it is not always immediately clear to us whether and at what time this is processed and shared with the House.”
