Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York will open by the end of summer 2022 in Tribeca

Barrière, which is celebrating 110 years of French art de vivre this year, will make its debut in New York with the opening of a Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s in the famous Tribeca district.

The luxurious Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s marks a new era for the Tribeca district of New York. Owned by Caspi Development and operated by Barrière, this elegant destination marks the first address of the family group in the United States.

Combining the charm of Parisian life with the peaceful atmosphere of Tribeca, Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York offers an intimate and sophisticated setting, nestled in the heart of one of the most coveted neighborhoods in the city that never sleeps. . First address signed Barrière in the United States, this new luxury hotel offers 97 Rooms and Suites spread over 8 floors, all decorated by designer Martin Brudnizki ; the emblematic French Brasserie Fouquet’s whose menu is signed by the three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire, as well as the Par Ici, a vegetarian café-restaurant for dining during the day and the Titsou Bar for chatting until late at night… but also a Spa Diane Barrière and its elegant pool, or an ultra-modern cinema room.

An art deco-inspired design

The Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York combines the French spirit and refinement that inhabit each of the Group’s properties. Owner of the hotel, Caspi Development called on Martin Brudnizki, a Swedish-American designer whose studio is known for its ability to combine tradition and modernity. With the key, an inspiration of the Art Deco movement to combine the effervescence of the city center and the calm of the residential districts in one and the same place. Giving pride of place to luxurious materials and tones reminiscent of the subtle interior of a residence on the banks of the Riviera, the premises embody an elegant link between Paris and New York. The Toile de Jouy wallpaper – made by Pierre Frey – specially created for the hotel is also a bi-cultural tribute, like all the spaces, with scenes that are both playful and original.

Exceptional taste experiences

The Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York offers several restaurants and bars that represent the Group’s French DNA while adapting to the local specificities of Tribeca and New York.

  • Fouquet’s New York: the hotel’s iconic restaurant reinterprets the timeless Parisian Brasserie Fouquet’s, an unmissable address on the most beautiful avenue in the world for more than 120 years. Dressed in his signature red and adorned with photographs of the famous Studio Harcourt, Chef Pierre Gagnaire signs a menu that gives pride of place to the classics of French cuisine, revisited with a New York touch. Chef Philippe Orrico – who cut his teeth with Chef Pierre Gagnaire – will be in the kitchen to bring to life the dishes imagined by the three-star Chef.
  • Par Ici Café: located on the ground floor of the hotel, the Par Ici Café is a vegetarian café-restaurant. With its traditional French café tables, woven rattan bistro chairs and potted palms to complement the typical Tribeca red brick facades, it almost feels like it’s there. ! The menu adopts a slow food approach with fresh, organic and seasonal ingredients from farms, small producers and fair trade cooperatives.
  • Titsou Bar: nestled between the Fouquet’s restaurant and the Reception is the hotel’s Bar, entitled Titsou. In homage to Lucien Barrière, founder of the Group, nicknamed Titsou by his daughter Diane, the Bar is inspired by the Bar Marta, the famous speakeasy of the Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s Paris. In an atmosphere that is both intimate and festive, the Bar echoes the Paris of the 1920s and 1930s. With its subdued lighting, its windows covered with heavy curtains and its hangings on the ceiling, the room is adorned with shades of aubergine, amethyst and green. dark. Just like its Parisian counterpart, the place, both chic and private, hides behind a backdoor that looks like a library.

At the head of operations, Gilles Stellardo has been appointed General Manager of the hotel. After more than three decades of experience in the management of numerous luxury establishments on both the French and American markets, Gilles is a fine connoisseur of these two markets. Affectionately referred to as Zee G by close friends and trusted guests, Gilles embodies the definition of a French New Yorker, exuding the same style and sophistication as the Barrière brand and exemplifying the French art of living.

We are honored to bring the Barrière brand, a prestigious icon of the hospitality industry to New York, creating a level of hospitality the Tribeca neighborhood has never experienced before.said Joshua Caspi, Director of Caspi Development. Synergies are naturally created between our two groups since we have in common the values of a family group and a detailed knowledge of the sector for several generations. We look forward to creating a space that marries traditional French elegance with the unique vibe that emanates from the Tribeca neighborhood.

We are particularly proud of this first Barrière address in the United States because the Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York is a collective project supported by the entire Group. Le Fouquet’s Paris is a mythical address on the Champs Elysées but it is also an emblematic brand that our Group, with more than a century of expertise in luxury hotels and restaurants, successfully exports to the international. At the Louvre Abu Dhabi as today in New York, Fouquet’s contributes to the influence of France and the French art of living abroad. This is one of the reasons why Barrière will continue to strengthen its international development. adds Dominique Desseigne, President of the Barrière group.

Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York will open its doors by the end of summer 2022.
