Hospitals in the Community of Madrid normally reopen pediatric emergencies

Hospitals in the Community of Madrid today reopen pediatric emergencies with the revocation of the resolution that centralized care for these patients in the La Paz and Infantil Universitario Niño Jesús hospitals.

Given the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic, the department headed by Enrique Ruiz Escudero establishes the usual organization of urgent pediatric care.

With this, the services of each hospital center return to their “normal operation”, providing the assistance that corresponds to them by health area.

In addition, they again have the same reference centers that they had before the health crisis to derive those clinical situations “that they cannot assume due to not having a precise portfolio of services.”

Last March 21 and to prevent coronavirus infections, the Community of Madrid centralized urgent pediatric care in these two hospitals.

Thus, La Paz attended to the patients of Ramón y Cajal, Hospital de Móstoles, Severo Ochoa (Leganés), Fundación Alcorcón, Infanta Sofía, Hospital del Tajo, Puerta del Hierro de Majadahonda, Hospital El Escorial and San Carlos Clinic.

For its part, the Hospital Niño Jesús referred patients from pediatric emergencies on October 12, Hospital de Getafe, Hospital Príncipe de Asturias (Alcalá), Hospital de Fuenlabrada, Hospital del Henares, Infanta Leonor, Hospital del Sureste, el Infanta Cristina, Gregorio Marañón and Hospital Gómez Ulla.

SUMMA 112 carried out pediatric transfers to the La Paz University Hospital and the Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital, according to the clinical needs of the patients, their closeness and disposition.
