Horror receipts in the field – that is how much for a combine in the 2022 season

In some regions of Poland, the harvest has already begun, in others it will begin literally in a moment. So let’s see how much you have to pay for combine.

Everything has become more expensive since last year. Fuel, lubricants, human labor, parts and interest on loans cost more – this has an important impact because a large part of combine harvesters is bought on credit. Taxes are also higher.

So let’s see how all these increases will translate into the prices of harvesting services in different regions of the country.

We start from south-eastern Poland, where, as we found out, the costs of the harvesting service with a forage harvester are between PLN 550 – 600 net per ha. The price includes the cost of fuel.

Prices are also very similar in Podlasie, where service providers offer grain and rapeseed harvesting for PLN 600 net per ha with fuel.

In turn, in the vicinity of Sieradz, the service of harvesting the Bizon harvester with a forage harvester is offered for PLN 390 net but per hour, it must be remembered that Bizon will not always harvest 1 ha per hour. This price also includes the fuel price.

On the other hand, in eastern Mazovia, the harvest was valued at PLN 500-550 net per ha with fuel.

In the south-west of Poland, the prices of harvesting services are at the level of PLN 400-450 net per hectare plus the fuel consumed.

In the voiv. In Lubuskie, harvest prices are PLN 450-500 net per ha, including fuel. The same rates apply in the province. West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

It is worth adding that the rates can be different depending on the type and condition of the harvested grain, because if the whole field is so-called legi it will definitely be more expensive. Also, if the straw is placed on the swath, the rate may be lower.

Some service providers add extra fees if the transport is unable to pick up the harvested grain and the combine has to wait in the field. Some service providers also offer their help in transport for an additional fee, but the rates depend on the distance between the field and the warehouse.

And finally, one comment about harvest prices, heard from a farmer who rents a combine harvester every year to harvest cereals from an area of ​​more than 100 ha.

Every year, everyone declares that it will be expensive, this year in May I heard about the net rate of PLN 650 per hectare. But I know that when it comes to what the service provider will come to collect for PLN 400-450 net with fuel. After all, the loan has to be repaid on something, and if the combine will not work, it will not earn for itself. Personally, I think that buying your own combine harvester in my area is completely unprofitable. It is actually cheaper to rent the service. But of course, in many areas the situation may be quite different.
