Horror scenario: In New York, amusement park visitors were trapped in a carousel. The ride spun backwards rapidly and couldn’t stop.

Munich/New York – Amusement parks should actually be fun. When looking for the right thrill, the following usually applies to the attractions: the higher, faster, faster, the better. Now there was an unintentional adrenaline rush in a US amusement park. Surely nobody had any fun with it.

Horror in the amusement park: the children’s carousel spins backwards uncontrollably

A disturbance was responsible for the frightening incident at Rye Playland, New York, on July 23, according to local media reports. A Twitter video shows the “Musik Express” children’s carousel reversing at extremely high speeds. “It just didn’t stop,” the post accompanying the video reads. According to data from news12 the park staff would have had trouble stopping the ride.

In the clip, the panicked screams of children and parents in the carousel can be heard. The nightmare ride lasted around ten minutes, then the disruption was repaired and the ride stopped.

“The safety of our guests is our top priority,” said a spokesman for the amusement park about 30 minutes by car north of Manhattan. The “Musik Express” has therefore been taken out of service for the time being, and the cause is now to be clarified in close discussions with the operators and manufacturers.
