Horgen gets a new head of education

According to the motto good things come to those who wait, at their meeting on March 17, 2022, the school administration hired Simone Augustin as Head of Education as of April 1, 2022.

After the new municipal ordinance was approved by the sovereign on March 7, 2021 and the legal basis for the introduction of an education department was created, the corresponding resources for the staggered implementation of the new organizational structure from January 1, 2022 were spoken at the ballot box on November 28, 2021.

At the meeting on February 3, 2022, the school board approved the new rules of procedure, which will now come into force on April 1, 2022. This laid the foundations for the job.

The Head of Education is the top manager for the entire operational business of the school and is at the center of politics, administration and pedagogy. She plans, controls and coordinates the school’s business, ensures cooperation between the various areas, is responsible for the quality and development of the school as a whole and represents the school to the outside world.

By law, the Head of Education is responsible for personnel management in the school administrations. She is also responsible for the personnel and specialist management of the department head of the school administration, the head of the special education department and the ICT department. The school board is responsible for the personnel-administrative and technical management of the education department.

From April 1, 2022, Simone Augustin will gradually take over the responsibilities as Head of Education and in this role will also be the interface to the management and the administration of the municipality. Within the framework of the unitary municipality, education is the sixth area of ​​administrative organization.

The municipality will provide information on the successor to the school management in the Bergli school unit in due course.
