Honda launched a folding “Sheepboy” in the 1980s, nearly 40 years ago. Last year, Honda announced the launch of a new electric two-wheeled vehicle “Motocompacto” to pay tribute to the Motocompo of that year, and it was just displayed at the CES2024 exhibition. According to Honda’s official US store, the Motocompacto is priced at US$995 (approximately HK$7,768).
Honda exhibited the Motocompacto folding electric two-wheeler at CES. According to Honda, the new Motocompacto can achieve zero carbon emissions and is specially designed for modern urban commuting. Officials say that the recommended driving age for Honda Motocompacto is 14 years and above.
The Honda Motocompacto has a unique appearance and can be folded into a suitcase-like state when necessary, making it convenient for drivers to store it in a narrow space, take it on public transportation, or even store it in the back compartment of a private car.
According to official Honda data, the Motocompacto is 29.2 inches (approximately 74 cm) long, 3.7 inches (approximately 9.4 cm) wide, and 21.1 inches (approximately 53.6 cm) high when folded.
Honda’s official data shows that the Motocompacto can reach a top speed of 15 mph (approximately 24 km/h), a maximum range of 12 miles (approximately 19 km), and can be fully charged in just 3.5 hours. It can accelerate from a standstill to a top speed of 24 km/h in just 7 seconds.
Honda has also specially launched the Motocompacto mobile app, which allows drivers to experience the joy of driving on the road and makes driving more convenient for them. This app can also check Motocompacto’s battery level, battery health data, etc. You can also use the built-in trip calculator to estimate the remaining power when you arrive at your intended destination.
