Homeless dads are celebrated by the Franciscan soup kitchen in Bolivia

With a Eucharist and a special breakfast, some 250 homeless people and beneficiaries of the dining room of the Franciscan Social Center of Cochabamba, celebrated Father’s Day in Bolivia on March 19.

Father’s Day in Bolivia is celebrated every March 19, the feast of Saint Joseph.

On this occasion, the volunteers of the dining room, benefactors together with the community of Sant’Egidio, wanted to deliver a playful and loving moment to parents who live on the streets.

The Franciscan brothers in the formation stage of philosophical and theological study, of the Secular Franciscan Third Order, the Franciscan Youth, students of the Colegio San Francisco B, benefactors, and new volunteers also collaborated in the activity.

After Mass at the Franciscan church, guests and volunteers participated in a prayer at the Franciscan Center and then had breakfast.

Later they saw a play about the parable of the Prodigal Son, they enjoyed a talent show, contests and folkloric dances in which the parents present participated.

There was a delivery of prizes for participation and creativity and the older parents of the group, 92 and 90 years old, were also recognized.

The day concluded with the delivery of lunches.
