Home work allowance and 5.5 percent more salary for PostNL staff | NOW

PostNL employees receive a salary increase of 5.5 percent in total. There will also be compensation for staff who work from home. This has been agreed in the new collective labor agreement for the postal company, on which the negotiating parties have an agreement signed.

In addition to the wage increase, there will be a one-off payment of 0.5 percent and an extra payment of 2 percent, which depends on the result that the company achieves this year. It had already been agreed that staff would receive a one-off payment of 250 euros as appreciation for continuing to work during corona time. From now on, office workers will also receive 45 euros as compensation for working from home.

Agreements have also been made about employing more parcel deliverers. The postal company can benefit from a boom in online sales this year. The amount of parcels to be delivered increased sharply, partly due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The collective labor agreement also includes conditions for older employees. They can choose to work less with partial salary and pension accrual. In addition, personnel with a physically demanding profession have the option to stop three years earlier.

The agreement is not final. The unions have yet to submit the agreement to their members. FNV does not agree with the agreements, but does submit the proposal to the members.

There will probably be more clarity about the possible approval of the union members on December 8th. About eighteen thousand employees work at PostNL. Mail deliverers are not covered, because they have their own collective labor agreement.
