Hitman 3 will not get a Ghost mode and this pvp mode will disappear in Hitman 2 – Gaming – News

IO Interactive has revealed more details about the game modes in the upcoming Hitman 3 release, revealing that Ghost Mode will not be in the game. This 1v1 multiplayer mode is still in Hitman 2, but will disappear there on August 31.

IO Interactive says focus on other game modes in Hitman 3, so Ghost Mode does not become part of the game. In addition, the developer reports that it has ‘made the difficult decision’ to shut down the Ghost Mode servers for Hitman 2, released in November 2018, on August 31.

This step means that there will be no multiplayer mode in Hitman 3. The developer says it has learned a lot from Ghost Mode over the past two years, and will use those lessons to figure out what to do with multiplayer in the future. With the introduction of Ghost Mode in the Hitman series, a competitive 1v1 multiplayer mode was introduced for the first time.

IO Interactive focuses on the single player in Hitman 3, with the usual campaign mode, in addition to Escalations, Contracts and Sniper Assassin modes. The latter mode, which revolves around assignments where targets must be silently eliminated from a long distance, is only a single player experience in Hitman 3. In Hitman 2, this mode was accompanied by support for co-op, but those servers will also be closed in time. It is not yet clear when exactly that will happen; at least it will happen before Hitman 3 appears.

The release for Hitman 3 is scheduled for release in January 2021. The game will be released for PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One and PC.
