Hispanic Artists Orlando Delman and Felipe Pérez Salas Inspire a New Wave of Entertainment in the US

For those who dedicate themselves to the artistic world, stories like that of Orlando Delman and Felipe Pérez Salas can be inspiring and full of learning. And the panorama and entertainment offer in the US is experiencing significant changes in which the Hispanic community can gain great spaces.

Orlando Delman shared for La Red Hispana the history and meaning of the work that for generations led his family to be the precursor of the Delman Circus: “My grandparents founded this circus; “They came to the US with a suitcase in hand and with many dreams to fulfill.”

Orlando says that he joined his grandparents’ initiative at the age of 18 and that he found a Hispanic audience eager to have fun; To that audience, precisely, he dedicates his efforts and that of his entire family to give continuity to “the only bilingual circus in the American Union.”

Today, new cultures have been added, providing fun and a multicultural entertainment offer. Felipe Pérez “Pipe”, a friend of Orlando Delman, is now part of the initiative. He was born in Chile and says: “Just because we are in a country that is not ours, we are not going to lose our essence, our flavor, our warmth, from the embrace of a family friend. Don’t stop dreaming, but don’t stop being you either.”

Stories of dedication and love for art and entertainment, like those of Pipe and Orlando, show the talent and energy that, without a doubt, can mark the growth of Latin representation. Not in vain, recently, in an interview for Forbes, entertainment specialist Mauricio Vega stated: “In entertainment among Latinos, there is a new wave that is nourished by tradition.”

It is important to highlight that there are initiatives in which lovers of art and entertainment can begin to build their careers. One of them is the National Hispanic Media Coalitionwhich since 1986 has offered opportunities to address the lack of Latinx representation in film.

Without a doubt, the Hispanic market is growing and with it, the need for new content and proposals in which the determining factor is marked by authenticity and the mix of traditions adapted to the new generations.
