Cristiano Ronaldo’s new Manchester United shirt has only been available for sale for seven days – and has already broken all records. Even Messi is making CR7 look old when it comes to jersey sales.

Mega stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Neymar are always about sums. And sometimes there are marginal notes that are symbolic of a player’s worth.
That is why the British online retailer “lovethesales.com” has set itself the task of following the sales figures for the CR7 jersey at its old, new club, Manchester United. According to its own statement, the website used the sales figures of 1000 online shops for this purpose.

The result shows unbelievable numbers: After Ronaldo’s jersey is said to have washed a record 38 million euros into the coffers of the fan shops within the first twelve hours, he broke a new record after seven days: a whopping 220 million euros were sold according to “lovethesales.com” taken by his jersey meanwhile. It only took a week to become the world’s best-selling jersey in one season.

For comparison: The huge hype surrounding Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain was accompanied by jersey sales of 121 million euros at almost the same price – a handsome sum that leaves Ronaldo’s ManUnited version far behind.
In its own online shop, Manchester United sells the standard CR7 fan jersey for currently 94 euros. Other prices range from 62 euros for the baby version to 135 euros for the authentic version.
