A highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) was confirmed at a bell duck farm in Naju, Jeollanam-do.

The Central Avian Influenza Accident Control Center announced on the 12th that the H5N8 type highly pathogenic AI was confirmed as a result of conducting a close examination on a duck farm located in Naju, Jeollanam-do, where H5 type AI antigen was detected in the inspection by the quarantine agency.

The Heavy Water Division decided to implement enhanced quarantine measures such as preventive killing and movement restrictions and intensive disinfection for poultry farms near the outbreak farm.

As a result, the number of poultry and experience farms where highly pathogenic AI has occurred so far has increased to 92.

An official from Jungsubon said, “Because the farmers recognize that the outside of the livestock can be widely contaminated, be sure to disinfect the farms and vehicles, people and goods, and make sure to practice basic rules such as changing boots when entering the livestock.”
