Herry Iman Pierngadi (Herry IP) denied the issue of leaving as national training coach PBSI and emphasized his commitment to continue training in Indonesia.

Wild rumors started circulating after Herry IP uploaded a photo on Instagram with the caption ‘Thank you’ nine weeks ago.

Then last week, when Indonesia’s mixed doubles competed in the 2023 French Open, Herry IP was not in the competition arena. The trainer nicknamed the Fire Dragon uploaded the moment he was at a restaurant believed to be abroad.

The post was interpreted by the public as saying goodbye to the 61-year-old coach from PBSI and coaching other countries.

“Just congratulations weekend Of course, maybe netizens too [khawatir], ah, just ordinary. I remain [melatih] in Indonesia, it doesn’t go anywhere, this is the proof. So don’t worry too much. “I’m still Red and White, original,” he said when met at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, Jakarta, Friday (3/11).

Asked about his absence during the European tour, Herry IP admitted that he was focused on other mixed doubles pairs at national training. He admitted that he wanted to focus on developing players who did not leave during the European tour.

“Yes, it’s not the time to go out yet, we’re still meditating, practicing first. There’s still a lot that needs attention,” he said.

Herry IP then commented on the two mixed doubles pairs he trained, namely Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. He admitted that he was preparing a special program to look forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Rinov/Tari and Rehan/Lisa need a lot of homework, work hard, but time is tight, so you have to be smarter about giving programs and providing input to them,” he said.

Currently, Indonesian mixed doubles are competing in the Hylo Open 2023. Two pairs, namely Rehan/Lisa and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, have qualified for the quarter-finals.
