Particularly tough corona lockdown in Bavaria
A lockdown begins across Germany on December 16, during which schools and daycare centers, among other things, will be closed. In addition, only the shops for daily needs – including supermarkets, drug stores and pharmacies – are allowed to remain open. After the decision of the federal and state governments, Markus Söder announced that Bavaria would “maximally” implement the tightened corona measures. In the Free State, the restrictions will go even further: From December 16, a nightly curfew will apply throughout Bavaria from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Tuesday, the Bavarian state parliament should finally decide on the lockdown in a special session.

After the deliberations of the cabinet on Monday, Markus Söder will appear in front of the cameras at a press conference from 1 p.m. today.
