Here are 10 banks in Indonesia with the highest profit growth throughout 2020

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Financial Fervices Authority (OJK) released the December 2020 edition of statistics, which show growth profit interbank net over the past year. This is a share of the total net profit national banking throughout 2020, amounting to IDR 104.71 trillion.

PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk or BTN was recorded as the national bank with the highest growth over the past year. This bank, which focuses on the housing sector, recorded a net profit of IDR 1.6 trillion or a skyrocketing 664.59 percent from IDR 209.26 billion in 2019.

Then, the second place is occupied by PT Bank Pan Indonesia Tbk (PNBN) with a net profit growth of 0.32 percent. Until the end of December 2020, PNBN posted a net profit of Rp. 3.07 trillion, a slight increase compared to the same period in 2019 of Rp. 3.06 trillion.

PT Bank Central Asia TBK or BCA is in third place. The largest private bank in Indonesia, last year its net profit contracted by 3.63 percent to IDR 26.27 trillion in 2020, from IDR 27.26 trillion in the previous year.

The fourth position was achieved by PT Bank BTPN Tbk, whose net profit fell 12.57 percent to IDR 1.39 trillion at the end of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019 IDR 1.59 trillion.

Then in fifth position is PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk, with net profit eroded 24.76 percent to IDR 2.3 trillion in 2020 from IDR 3.23 trillion in 2019.

Furthermore, in sixth position there is PT Bank Mandiri Tbk which recorded a net profit of Rp. 14.15 trillion in 2020. This is a 44.37 percent decrease compared to the acquisition in 2019 of Rp. 25.44 trillion.

Meanwhile, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is in seventh position with net profit growth contracting 45.34 percent to IDR 21.15 trillion in 2020 compared to 2019’s position of IDR 38.70 trillion.

The eighth place is PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, which at the end of 2020 its net profit has decreased by 47.41 percent. Until the end of last year, CIMB Niaga’s net profit was IDR 1.83 trillion, a decrease compared to 2019 which was IDR 3.48 trillion.

The ninth position is occupied by PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, whose net profit fell 72.97 percent in 2020 to IDR 1 trillion, from the position in 2019 of IDR 3.7 trillion.

And finally in position 10, there is PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk or BNI, which throughout 2020 its net profit has been eroded 81.17 percent to Rp 2.75 trillion from the 2019 acquisition of Rp 14.61 trillion.
