Heike Paulmann: The authorization requested by the president of Cencosud to donate a large sum to her 4 children

Last week it was revealed that Horst Paulmann Kemna left the board of the holding company Cencosuda year after handing over the presidency to his daughter, Heike Paulmann.

“Today is the renewal of our board of directors and, as you have seen on the screens, my father will not run for re-election, which is why I want to propose at the next board meeting that be appointed honorary president of Cencosud”, Heike declared at the annual meeting of shareholders on Friday, April 22.

The current president of the consortium, meanwhile, made news again this week after learning of a authorization requested by herself to donate a large sum of money to her four children.

Heike Paulmann’s request

According to what was reported by La Segunda, the tycoon’s daughter asked to donate $3.2 million (more than 2 billion Chilean pesos) to each of his four children.

The businesswoman made the request in the 25th Civil Court, arguing that she had assets of more than 21 billion pesos in shares in Cencosud.

How did Heike get to the presidency of Cencosud?

The businessman Horst Paulmann had temporarily left the presidency of Cencosud at the end of February 2021, so at that time his daughter Heike assumed the position, on an interim basis.

In this context, it was revealed that Paulmann’s departure was for medical reasons, which made it even more complicated, since his medical leave was prolonged and he finally left the post permanently.

However, with his departure from the board, the billionaire will continue to have a presence in the company as one of the 12 largest shareholders. It should also be noted that his family controls Cencosud through companies.
