Heavy storms fell over Vienna on Thursday afternoon or evening. The Viennese professional fire brigade was in constant use from the afternoon onwards and had to go to around 100 missions due to heavy rain.
The operations were carried out because of fallen trees, broken branches, flooded cellars or water leaks in apartments, said Lukas Schauer, spokesman for the professional fire brigade, the APA. There was initially no information about people who had been harmed.
