Heating starts in Riga – in Riga

Currently, there is no increased demand from customers of SIA “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks” (RNP) for heating connection, however, RNP starts heating connection in test mode today.

This is done to ensure rapid stabilization of the heating service and heating systems before the daily average air temperature drops sharply. This means that during this week RNP customer houses will be prepared for heating.

Given that according to the weather forecast this week at least two days can reach or exceed the plus 12 degree mark, radiators can be cold during the day, but the heat in the apartments, according to the settings of the automatic heating unit, is provided only after the air temperature falls below this temperature.

The first building under the supervision of RNP was connected to heating on September 11, following the decision of the apartment owners’ community.

In preparation for this year’s heating season, a detailed analysis of past heating seasons was performed, improving the company’s work.

Ronalds Neimanis, Chairman of the Board of RNP, reminds that in mid-September, the Board of RNP decided to cover all debts for the previous heating season for heat energy, so as not to hinder the connection of heat to the homes of RNP customers.

In turn, in order to be able to provide the service without a hitch, all heating units were ready for connection of heating already in the beginning of September.

Heating connection is provided by more than 200 RNP and PS “Siltumserviss Rīga” employees, who will continue heating connection in test mode also this weekend.

Heating connection in test mode means that only technical staff has up-to-date information on connection during the system stabilization period, so RNP urges apartment owners not to overload customer center operators who do not have a detailed plan for specific building connection and system stabilization schedule, as this information changes dynamically , according to the actual situation.

Most RNP-managed apartment building heating systems operate on the basis of automated heating unit settings, which means that the heating system for each house will be regulated automatically according to the outdoor air temperature.

Starting the heating season, it must be taken into account that the building needs time to warm up, explains RNP.
