Hearthstone: The Outland Ruins expansion

With “Ruins of Outland” developer Blizzard Entertainment is expanding its trading card game Hearthstone for the first time with a new class – the demon hunters.

An absolute World of Warcraft (WoW) classic will determine the setting of Hearthstone in the coming months: The expansion “Ruins of Outland” thematically builds on the WoW addon “The Burning Crusade”. For the first time since the 2004 release, Hearthstone added a new class with the demon hunters. The expansion swirls the meta of the trading card game together with the 136 new cards.

“Demon claws”, the heroic ability of the demon hunter Illidan, differs from all other abilities – it only costs one mana and increases the attack of the demon hunter by one point. The new class is accompanied by new servants and mechanics. Cards with the Outsider keyword get powerful bonuses if they were on the far right or left before playing. The new servants “Prime” have a unique death rattling effect: a stronger version of the legendary servant is mixed into the deck. “Captive demons” are now also part of the Hearthstone universe. They remain inactive for the first two rounds after they have been played and cannot be attacked or targeted – afterwards they trigger an effect.

Activation via the solo prologue

To play the demon hunter hero class, you must first the prologue to the solo adventure of “Ruins of Outland” will be completed. This consists of four missions, in addition to the class activation, the players receive ten demon hunter basic cards, an initiate set consisting of twenty cards and a pre-made demon hunter set. The solo adventure story is slated to be released over the coming months, telling the demon hunters’ battle against the Rostlegion.
