Hear response from MPR chair RI, WHO adds disease X to deadly epidemic list

In the official version WHO on the list of deadly diseases that pose a threat new outbreakone of which is disease X, which is said to be more sinister than Covid-19.

In addition to Covid-19 and disease X, other deadly diseases include Crimean-Cong hemorrhagic fever, Ebola virus, Marburg virus, Lassa fever, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), nipah and henipaviral diseases, Rift Valley fever, Zika and disease X.

Respond to real problems related to the threat of disease X which is deadly and can become new outbreak the, President of MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo aka Bamsoet give the following answer.

First, by asking the government, in this case the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to continue coordinating with the World Health Organization regarding the development of disease X and the countermeasures that will need to be addressed in the future, because the disease X is notoriously a mysterious pathogen and is said to be capable of causing a major global epidemic.


Secondly, asking the government, in this case the Ministry of Health, to anticipate the entry and emergence of the disease in Indonesia and to coordinate with the World Health Organization to prevent the spread of disease X in Indonesia.

Thirdly, ask the government to educate the public not to panic about the disease X issue and to inform them what needs to be done in order not to get the disease, because until now the disease is still being researched.

Fourth, ask the government to continue to monitor the development of disease X globally and strengthen health screening at points of entry into Indonesia, in order to anticipate the entry of disease X into Indonesia.
